Goa Lawah Temple History

Tirta Ganga is a former royal palace in eastern Bali about 5 kilometers near the village of Karangasem Ababi. It is about taking approxmately 2.5 hours from the city of Denpasar. Tirta Ganga comes from the word tirta and gangga where tirta which means holy water and the Gangga is a place, so Tirtagangga is a sacred place where people Bali every time coming to this place to worship or sometimes they were bathing in the pool is intended to destroy the mind the bad one. Tirta gangga is the site of some homage to Hindu Bali. Strictly, the name refers to the water palace built in 1948 by King of Karangasem, Anak Agung Agung Ketut Karangasem Anglurah. It is, however, the name used to refer to the common area that includes a water palace and the lush countryside around. Tirta Ganga water palace is a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by lush gardens and stone carvings and statues. One hectare complex was built in 1946 by the late King of Karangasem but destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963, has been lovingly rebuilt and restored and has the air of an authentic royal splendor. The core of the palace was eleven tiered fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues that adorn the park. The area around Tirta Ganga noted for its rice terraces.
A few km beyond Amlapura ( Karangasem ), in the road down to the sea, Taman Ujung Water palace - atop green and gold hills, with the lavender silhouette of Mount Agung in the distance, the last garden temple quetly glows in the late afternoon sunlight.
